Facundo Gómez

My lines of research are primarily focused on the formation and evolution of galaxies, with a main goal of characterizing the physical mechanisms that primarily pace galaxy evolution at different scales. Many questions related to how galaxies evolve to reach their current morphological, kinematical and chemical structure are yet to be addressed. To understand the observed diversity in galactic properties, and to place strong and verifiable constraints on the paradigm of galaxy formation, I work with complex state-of-the-art multiscale numerical models that allow us to dissect the different physical mechanisms at play.
